There used to be a Catholic Family History Society, which was founded in 1983.
Sadly, the Society has now been dissolved, due to lack of volunteers to run it.
The good news is that the information the Society had gathered will not be lost, as the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society will now add the Catholic FHS material to its already substantial Catholic collection.

I haven't checked out the M&L FHSwebsite, but would presume that the transferred Catholic records would include records from at least all over England, not just ones for Lancashire.
